France De Villepin Tenth generation winemaker of an ancient Burgundy family, Bruno de Villepin settled in Champagne in 1999 on the family property, purchased by his great-great-grandfather from the Duchess of Uzès, granddaughter of Veuve Clicquot. He farms 2.12 hectares (5.25 acres) of vineyards, composed of 55% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir. In an effort to reduce the environmental footprint of its viticulture, Bruno practices “permaculture” a sustainable approach to farming. A gentle and meticulous winemaking, without filtration, and the micro-vinification of each parcel are his signature style. Domaine Des Enfants The Domaine des Enfants was founded in 2006 by Swiss born Marcel Bühler and Native Oregonian Carrie Sumner. It consists of 25 hectares (62 acres) of old vineyards of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Lladoner Pelut on different soils (schist, granite, gneiss and limestone) and heights, located around the small village of Maury (Roussillon). All vineyard practices are carried over by hand and by horse, and the vineyards are certified organic. In the cellar Carrie and Marcel strive to preserve the characteristics of the different terroirs and the finesse and aroma of each variety by interfering as little as possible with the natural processes. All their wines are fermented with natural yeast and vinified without any additives.
