Italy
Our Italian portfolio is based on what we call our Three Pillars of Italian Wine:
1) Native Grapes: Italy boasts 600+ native grape varieties, the vast majority of them offer unique flavor profiles, compelling value and century-old sense of place. That is why we selected some the most exciting indigenous, local and traditional grapes. From Colorino to Vespolina, from Enantio to Pelaverga we believe native grapes are the best at representing the amazing variety and uniqueness of Italian wine.
2) Sangiovese & Nebbiolo: Without doubt, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo translate site-specificity and sense of place like no other grape variety. That’s why they make some of Italy’s most iconic wines, and some of our personal favorites. In a nutshell, we are madly in love with these multi-dimensional, idiosyncratic and quintessentially Italian grape varieties, and that’s why you’ll find so many different expressions of them in our Portfolio, from different Regions and at different price points.
3) Metodo Classico: Like all Italians, we love bubbles! In the past 10-15 years Italy has improved the production of Metodo Classico wines by leaps and bounds, creating a niche worth exploring well above and beyond the popularity of mass producers sparklers. We believe in Italian Metodo Classico and decided to make it an integral part of our strategy to represent an ample selection of the finest examples.
